Communication Arts Mixed Media Magazine Design
Print magazine design project redesigning Communication Arts magazine in a mixed media style. The magazine features a cover design and three spreads, showcasing an original article on mixed media/multimedia art practice, accompanied by both original and curated works in a mixed media style. The prototype magazine aimed to embody a layered, applique style to create a sense of the magazine being a work of mixed media itself. Experimental layouts, oversized type, playful type-pairings and the layering of imagery, text and design elements were employed to achieve this effect.
Original artwork was created using a variety of mediums. All other design elements and layouts were developed in InDesign.
